August 22nd, 1972: God Rests A Spell, While Uncle Sam's son walks the Dog

The pyramid or triangle as a symbol of the Holy Trinity.

"Hermes asked if all men did not have Minds, and the Great Dragon replied: "Take heed what you say, for I am the Mind--the Eternal Teacher. I am the Father of the Word--the Redeemer of all men--and in the nature of the wise the Word takes flesh. By means of the Word, the world is saved. I, Thought(Thoth)--the Father of the Word, the Mind--come only unto men that are holy and good, pure and merciful, and that live piously and religiously, and my presence is an inspiration and a help to them, for when I come they immediately know all things and adore the Universal Father. Before such wise and philosophic ones die, they learn to renounce their senses, knowing that these are the enemies of their immortal souls."

Godspell The Musical: Day By Day Summer of 1972

"Godspell is a musical by Stephen Schwartz and a book by John-Michael Tebelak. It opened off Broadway on May 17, 1971, and has played in various touring companies and revivals many times since, including a 2011 revival which played on Broadway from October 13, 2011, to June 24, 2012. Several cast albums have been released over the years and one of its songs, "Day by Day" from the original cast album, reached #13 on the Billboard pop singles chart in the summer of 1972"

The Spelling of GOD

SPELL (v.1)

Early 14c., "read letter by letter, write or say the letters of;" c. 1400, "form words by means of letters," apparently a French word that merged with or displaced a native Old English one.

The native word is Old English spellian "to tell, speak, discourse, talk," from Proto-Germanic *spellam(cognates: Old High German spellon "to tell," Old Norse spjalla, Gothic spillon "to talk, tell"), from PIE *spel-"  "to say aloud, recite."

But the current senses seem to come from Anglo-French espeller, Old French espelir "mean, signify, explain, interpret," also "spell out letters, pronounce, recite," from Frankish *spellon "to tell" or some other Germanic source, ultimately identical with the native word.

In early Middle English still "to speak, preach, talk, tell," hence such expressions as hear spell "hear (something) told or talked about," spell the wind "talk in vain" (both 15c.). Meaning "form words with proper letters" is from 1580s. Spell out "explain step-by-step" is first recorded 1940, American English."

SPELL (n.1)

Old English spell "story, saying, tale, history, narrative, fable; discourse, command," from Proto-Germanic *spellam.

Compare Old Saxon spel, Old Norse spjall, Old High German spel, Gothic spill "report, discourse, tale, fable, myth;" German Beispiel "example." From c. 1200 as "an utterance, something said, a statement, remark;" meaning "set of words with supposed magical or occult powers, incantation, charm" first recorded 1570s; hence any means or cause of enchantment.

"The term 'spell' is generally used for magical procedures which cause harm, or force people to do something against their will -- unlike charms for healing, protection, etc. ["Oxford Dictionary of English Folklore"]"

Also in Old English,"doctrine; a sermon; religious instruction or teaching; the gospel; a book of the Bible".

spell (v.2)

"Work in place of (another)," 1590s, earlier spele, from Old English spelian "to take the place of, be substitute for, represent," related to gespelia "substitute," of uncertain origin. Perhaps related to spilian "to play" (see spiel). Related: Spelled; spelling.

spell (n.2)

1620s, "a turn of work in place of another," from spell (v.2); compare Old English gespelia "a substitute." Meaning shifted toward "continuous course of work" (1706), probably via notion of shift work (as at sea) where one man or crew regularly "spelled" another. Hence "continuous stretch" of something (weather, etc.), recorded by 1728. Hence also, via the notion in give a spell (1750) "relieve another by taking a turn of work" came the sense "interval of rest or relaxation" (1845), which took the word to a sense opposite what it had at the start.

The God of Spelling: Odin

Odin's lost eye represents the gaining of occulted wisdom. Odin, or Wotan, is the Norse God of language and the arts. The God of magic and spell craft. He is the Lord of the Runes. Runes are simply written letters. The building blocks for the visual representation of language.  This is obviously something only one creature, as far as we know, is capable of. The only creature to exhibit what we term "culture" is  the Human Being.

Odin's Runes below:

Trailer to the 1973 film version of Godspell below:

"The structure of the musical is that of a series of parables, mostly based on the Gospel of Matthew (three of the featured parables are recorded only in the Gospel of Luke). The parables are interspersed with a variety of modern music set primarily to lyrics from traditional hymns, with the passion of Christ treated briefly near the end of the performance. It started as a college project performed by students at Carnegie Mellon University and moved to La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in Greenwich Village. It was then re-scored for an off-Broadway production which became a long-running success."

Please notice the use of the Superman symbol as part of the costuming of the Jesus character in this musical production.

Superman apparently crucified like Christ. Now we can see that this is a solar reference. The annual journey of the Sun as expressed mythologically. These images are cross cultural. The “S” symbol repents the serpentine path of the Sun over the course of the Solar year.

Notice Odin's fingers trace the course of the North Star over the year, pictured below.

Odin Spies The 12 Zodiac Houses & The Constellations onto The Heavens as He hangs From The World Tree or Axis-Mundi

Odin hangs from the Axis-Mundi, the center around which the entire Universe rotates. This is the mythic still point of existence. Odin spies, (or traces?) out the LOGOS in the Heavans. These "Logos" (or icons, pictographs, star pictures) being the Zodiac with its mythic Twelve Houses and other such imagined astral forms.

"Late 14c., from Latin astrologia "astronomy, the science of the heavenly bodies," from Greek astrologia "telling of the stars," from astron "star" (see astro-) + -logia "treating of" (see -logy).

Originally identical with astronomy, it had also a special sense of "practical astronomy, astronomy applied to prediction of events." This was divided into natural astrology "the calculation and foretelling of natural phenomenon" (tides, eclipses, etc.), and judicial astrology "the art of judging occult influences of stars on human affairs" (also known as astromancy, 1650s). Differentiation between astrology and astronomy began late 1400s and by 17c. this word was limited to "reading influences of the stars and their effects on human destiny."

logos (n.)

1580s, Logos, "the divine Word, second person of the Christian Trinity," from Greek logos "word, speech, discourse," also "reason," from PIE root *leg- "to collect" (with derivatives meaning "to speak," on notion of "to pick out words;" see lecture (n.)); used by Neo-Platonists in various metaphysical and theological senses and picked up by New Testament writers.

Other English formations from logos include logolatry "worship of words, unreasonable regard for words or verbal truth" (1810 in Coleridge); logomania (1870); logophobia (1923)

A logo (abbreviation of logotype,[1] from Greek: λόγος logos "word" and τύπος typos "imprint") is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol commonly used by commercial enterprises, organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition. Logos are either purely graphic (symbols/icons) or are composed of the name of the organization (a logotype or wordmark).

In the days of hot metal typesetting, a logotype was one word cast as a single piece of type, e.g. "The" in ATF Garamond (as opposed to a ligature, which is two or more letters joined, but not forming a word).[2] By extension, the term was also used for a uniquely set and arranged typeface or colophon. At the level of mass communication and in common usage a company's logo is today often synonymous with its trademark or brand.

An Illuminating Interview

This exchange between Mr. Moyers and Joseph Campbell illuminates the problem of religion and the modern News ‘programming’ and other media that has replaced it. Modern history, current affairs and the governments that offer the solutions to the mostly concocted and artificial problems area all part of the theatrical show the 666 Yellow Minion Beast puts on for all of us. The truth, however has a way of shining through the lies. We can use the screens of art to that were meant to trap us, to free our minds and imaginations. We can embrace out Natural heritage as creators in this creation. We are all artists.

From Episode 4 - 'Sacrifice & Bliss' of the PBS series 'The Power of Myth'

From The Power of Myth:

“JOSEPH CAMPBELL:…When man had eaten of the fruit of the first tree, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he is said to have been expelled from the garden. He had already expelled himself from the garden. The garden is the place of unity, nonduality, nonduality of male and female, nonduality of man and God, nonduality of good and evil. You eat the duality, and you’re on the way out. So this tree of the nonduality, is the tree of the exit.

Now, the tree of coming back to the garden is the tree of immortal life. Where you know that “I and the father are one.” And the two that seem to become one again. And this is exactly the tree under which the Buddha sits.

BILL MOYERS: The tree of wisdom?

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: The tree of immortal life, of the knowledge of immortal life. And the Buddha under his tree, and Christ hanging on his tree are the same image. They are the same image. The one who has died to the flesh and been reborn in the spirit. This is an essential experience of any mystical realization; you die to your flesh and are born to your spirit. You identify yourself with the consciousness and life of which your body is but the vehicle. You die to the vehicle and become identified in your consciousness with that of which the vehicle is the carrier, do you understand me? And that is the god.

So that what you get in the vegetation traditions is this notion of identity behind the surface display of duality, identity behind it all. All of these are manifestations of the One. The one radiance shines through all things. The function of art, in a way, is to reveal through the object here the radiance, and that’s what you get when you see the beautiful organization of a fortunately composed work of art. You just say, aha. Somehow it speaks to the order in your own life. ‘This is a realization through art of the very thing that the religions are concerned to render.

BILL MOYERS: That death is life and life is death, and that the two are in accord.

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: You have to have a balance between death and life. They’re two aspects of the same thing, which is being/becoming.

BILL MOYERS: And that’s in all of these stories?

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: All of them. I don’t know one where death is rejected.

BILL MOYERS: This idea of sacrifice is so foreign to our world today.

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: Well, the old idea of being sacrificed is not what we think at all.

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: Just consider: I think the great model of sacrifice is the Mayan Indian ball game. You know they had a kind of basketball game, there’s a loop there up in the stadium wall, and the idea was to get this big heavy ball through that. I don’t know how they did it, with their shoulders or heads or something or other. And the captain of the winning team was sacrificed on the field by the captain of the losing team, his head was cut off. And going to your sacrifice as the winning stroke of your life is the essence of the early sacrificial idea.

There’s a wonderful story that I found in the Jesuit relations, you know, the Jesuits here in the 17th century as missionaries up in Canada and northern New York state and so forth, of a young Iroquois boy who had just been captured by the Hurons or perhaps it was the other way around, I’ve forgotten. And he was being brought to be tortured to death. The Northeast Indians engaged in a systematic torture, which would go on for a long time, and the ordeal was to be sustained with a smile, without flinching, that was it. That was real manhood.

But the boy is brought to this as though he were being brought to his wedding. He is singing, and the people with him are treating him as though they were his hosts and he was the honored guest. And he played the game with them, knowing where he was going. And the priests describing the thing are absolutely bewildered by the situation, and they say that the mockery of this kind of hospitality for people who are then going to be become the brutes. No, those people were the priests! And this was the sacrifice of the altar, and that boy was Jesus, you know, by analogy. And the priest every day is celebrating mass, which is an imitation or repetition actually of the sacrifice of the cross. That’s what this priest was witnessing.

But then you have it also, in John, in the Acts of John: Jesus, before going to crucify the Jesus dance, that’s one of the most beautiful passages in the Christian tradition. In the Matthew, Mark, Luke and John gospels, it’s certainly mentioned that we sang a hymn and Jesus went forth. Well, here you have the whole hymn described: in a ring, Jesus in the center, saying, ‘join hands and we’ll sing and we’ll dance,’ and he says, ‘I am this, I am that, I am so forth and so forth, amen, amen.’ Oh, my God, it’s grand. And then he walks out to be crucified. When you go to your death that way as a god, you are going to your eternal life. What’s sad about that? Let’s make it great And they do.

BILL MOYERS: The god of death is the lord of the dance.

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: The god of death is the lord of sex at the same time.

BILL MOYERS: What do you mean?

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: It’s a marvelous thing. One after another, you can see these gods Ghede, the death god of the Haitian voodoo, is also the sex god. Wotan had one eye covered and the other uncovered, do you see, and at the same time was the lord of life. Osiris, the lord of death and the lord of the generation of life. It’s a basic theme: that which dies is born. You have to have death in order to have life.

Now, this is the origin thought really of the head hunt, in Southeast Asia and particularly in the Indonesian zone. The head hunt, right up to now, has been a sacred act, it’s a sacred killing: Unless there is death, there cannot be birth, and a young man, before he can be permitted to marry and become a father, must have gone forth and had his kill.

BILL MOYERS: What does that say to you?

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: Well, that every generation has to die in order that the next generation should come. As soon as you beget or give birth to a child, you are the dead one; the child is the new life and you are simply the protector of that new life.

BILL MOYERS: Your time has come and you know it.

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: Yeah, well, that’s why there is this deep psychological association of begetting and dying.

BILL MOYERS: Isn’t there some relationship between what you’re saying and this fact, that a father will give his life for his son, a mother will give her life for her child?”

Ep. 4: Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth -- 'Sacrifice and Bliss ...

Yellow Journalism The Blueprint For The News, The University System and All of Culture Itself.

Joseph Campbell defines yellow press newspapers as having daily multi-column front-page headlines covering a variety of topics, such as sports and scandal, using bold layouts (with large illustrations and perhaps color), heavy reliance on unnamed sources, and unabashed self-promotion. The term was extensively used to describe certain major New York City newspapers around 1900 as they battled for circulation.[3]

Frank Luther Mott defines yellow journalism in terms of five characteristics:[4]

  1. scare headlines in huge print, often of minor news
  2. lavish use of pictures, or imaginary drawings
  3. use of faked interviews, misleading headlines, pseudoscience, and a parade of false learning from so-called experts
  4. emphasis on full-color Sunday supplements, usually with comic strips
  5. dramatic sympathy with the "underdog" against the system.

XXX Marks The Beastial G(OD) Spot

The Lord of Sex is The Lord of Death. They are two sides of the same coin. This might explain why the Yellow Journal Beast makes use of both sexually explicit narratives and material along side horrific images and narratives of murder and war. This might also explain the military’s long fascination with both sex and death as well. Tales of homosexual activity are the literal stuff of Ancient Greek Homeric legend and the more recent tales of U.S. Air Force wife swapping parties are clear evidence that the cultural manipulators are simply continuing a long tradition of yellow journalistic, childish nonsense. What like minded willing adults do together is their business. Common sense must apply. We all need to grow up and stop letting sensational tall tales of sex and death distract us from reality.

Homosexuality in the militaries of ancient Greece was regarded as contributing to morale.[1] Although the primary example is the Sacred Band of Thebes, a unit said to have been formed of same-sex couples, the Spartan tradition of military heroism has also been explained in light of strong emotional bonds resulting from homosexual relationships.[2] Various ancient Greek sources record incidents of courage in battle and interpret them as motivated by homoerotic bonds.”

The Seven Headed Beast and Lifting The Seven Veils

The seven heads of the beast refer us to the seven whole notes of the musical scale or the seven colors of the rainbow, (visual arts). The seven heads of the beasts of Revelations would seem to indicate art in the service of lies. All major and culturally important art and architecture has always been paid for and commissioned by the elite for the underlying and fundamental purpose of reinforcing belief systems that are designed to keep us, the mass public and even the so-called ‘leisure’ classes in our place. We do not know it, but we are all wage slaves with real economic chains, whether our cages are gilded or not.

The basis for all beliefs in the power of so-called Royalty, Military, Religion, the University System and institutions like Government, The “Justice” System and the News are all founded and grounded in a mythological, dreamlike and childlike reasoning.

The mythological nightmare we call culture, civilization and history is nothing more than the fantasy of   a few childish minds who started the scam and racket we call civilization centuries ago.

This literal game of Royal make believe is nothing but a Global Mafia run scam andcrime of protection racketeering. We have been led to believe we are free but we are not. Economic chains of paper, that have gone digital, bind all of us, to a very real pyramid scheme. Please check out the article index for more.

The News and History itself is made of more lies than most realize. This blog is dedicated to illuminating the occulted parts of our culture and collective global civilization. Please excuse any typos, spell check is evil, we will correct them as we find the. AAMorris Staff.

Odin and Runes and the Art of Language

"Odin is associated with healing, death, royalty, the gallows, knowledge, battle, sorcery, poetry, frenzy, and the runic alphabet, and is the husband of the goddess Frigg. In wider Germanic mythology and paganism, Odin was known in Old English as Wōden, in Old Saxon as Wōden, and in Old High German as Wuotan or Wodan..."

Mercury or Hermes is often associated with Odin.

"The runes were in use among the Germanic peoples from the 1st or 2nd century AD.[a] This period corresponds to the late Common Germanic stage linguistically, with a continuum of dialects not yet clearly separated into the three branches of later centuries: North GermanicWest Germanic, and East Germanic."

The Rainbow the symbol for the arts and freedom of self expression, pours forth from the home of the Gods themselves, fabled Asgard. Compare to the Muses and Apollo artwork, far below.

Superman, a solar mythological figure. The word, "super" means above or over. He represents a power that is above that of mankind. Above also reminds us of the Sun itself, or God in Heaven. The Kryptonian name, El, is derived from Hebrew and refers us to the concept of the power of the source of all existence, or boundary of existence, personified as the god Saturn,

Please notice the key to the fortress starts off looking like a skeleton key, the lock on the door, the appropriate shape. Below the shape of the key as it would appear for many years to come. Superman's "S" symbol resembles the "occult" hexagram above. The symbol ouroboros, is the encircling snake or serpent eating its own tail. The Four Gospels are referred to. The Four Evangelists, are also represented pictorially as:

  • Matthew the Evangelist, the author of the first gospel account is symbolized by a winged man, or angel. Matthew's gospel starts with Joseph's genealogy from Abraham; it represents Jesus' Incarnation, and so Christ's human nature. This signifies that Christians should use their reason for salvation.
  • Mark the Evangelist, the author of the second gospel account is symbolized by a winged lion – a figure of courage and monarchy. The lion also represents Jesus' Resurrection (because lions were believed to sleep with open eyes, a comparison with Christ in the tomb), and Christ as king. This signifies that Christians should be courageous on the path of salvation.
  • Luke the Evangelist, the author of the third gospel account (and the Acts of the Apostles) is symbolized by a winged ox or bull – a figure of sacrifice, service and strength. Luke's account begins with the duties of Zacharias in the temple; it represents Jesus' sacrifice in His Passion and Crucifixion, as well as Christ being High priest (this also represents Mary's obedience). The ox signifies that Christians should be prepared to sacrifice themselves in following Christ.
  • John the Evangelist, the author of the fourth gospel account is symbolized by an eagle – a figure of the sky, and believed by Christian scholars to be able to look straight into the sun. John starts with an eternal overview of Jesus the Logos and goes on to describe many things with a "higher" christology than the other three (synoptic) gospels; it represents Jesus' Ascension, and Christ's divine nature. This symbolizes that Christians should look on eternity without flinching as they journey towards their goal of union with God.

Above, Apollo and The Muses. Compare to the Rainbow Bridge of Asgard. The rainbow a symbol of art, it represents musical tones or visual chromatic color tones, the building blocks of music or visual art

"An analemma can be traced by plotting the position of the Sun as viewed from a fixed position on Earth at the same clock time every day for an entire year, or by plotting a graph of the Sun's declination against the equation of time. The resulting curve resembles a long, slender figure-eight, a lemniscate of Bernoulli. This curve is commonly printed on terrestrial globes, usually in the eastern Pacific Ocean, the only large tropical region with very little land. It is possible, though challenging, to photograph the analemma, by leaving the camera in a fixed position for an entire year and snapping images on 24-hour intervals (or some multiple thereof)"

The "S" shape can be discerned from the figure "8".

"1650s, "condition of flowing," from Latin currens, present participle of currere "to run" (see current (adj.)); the sense of a flow or course extended 1699 (by John Locke) to "circulation of money."

"The earliest metallic money did not consist of coins, but of unminted metal in the form of rings and other ornaments or of weapons, which were used for thousands of years by the EgyptianChaldean and Assyrian empires."

"The origin of the word "mint" is ascribed to the manufacture of silver coin at Rome in 269 BC at the temple of Juno Moneta. This goddess became the personification of money, and her name was applied both to money and to its place of manufacture. Roman mints were spread widely across the Empire, and were sometimes used for propaganda purposes. The populace often learned of a new Roman Emperor when coins appeared with the new Emperor's portrait. Some of the emperors who ruled only for a short time made sure that a coin bore their image; Quietus, for example, ruled only part of the Roman Empire from 260 to 261 AD, and yet he issued two coins bearing his image."

"In early civilizations a temple is considered the safest refuge; it is a solid building, constantly attended, with a sacred character which itself may deter thieves. In Egypt and Mesopotamia gold is deposited in temples for safe-keeping. But it lies idle there, while others in the trading community or in government have desperate need of it. In Babylon at the time of Hammurabi, in the 18th century BC, there are records of loans made by the priests of the temple. The concept of banking has arrived.

The first mint: 7th century BC

The earliest known coins in the western world come from the city of Ephesus in Ionia (in western Turkey) in about 650 BC. The metal used is electrum, a natural alloy of gold and silver found locally. The coins are bean shaped and are struck on one side with a distinguishing mark, such as the image of a lion. The underlying purpose is to ensure a stable value in this variable metal of exchange, previously traded by weight alone. The state mint adds silver to the alloy to guarantee a mix of 55% gold to 45% silver.

A century later Croesus, king of neighbouring Lydia and famous for his wealth, becomes the first ruler to mint coins in pure gold and pure silver. Like the earlier coins, his are still stamped on just one side. They show the facing heads of a lion and a bull."

The Eye of Providence

"Odin’s quest for wisdom is never-ending, and he is willing to pay any price, it seems, for the understanding of life’s mysteries that he craves more than anything else. On one occasion, he hanged himself, wounded himself with his spear, and fasted from food and drink for nine days and nights in order to discover the runes

On another occasion, he ventured to Mimir’s Well – which is surely none other than the Well of Urd[1] – amongst the roots of the world-tree Yggdrasil. There dwelt Mimir, a shadowy being whose knowledge of all things was practically unparalleled among the inhabitants of the cosmos. He achieved this status largely by taking his water from the well, whose waters impart this cosmic knowledge.

When Odin arrived, he asked Mimir for a drink from the water. The well’s guardian, knowing the value of such a draught, refused unless the seeker offered an eye in return. Odin – whether straightaway or after anguished deliberation, we can only wonder – gouged out one of his eyes and dropped it into the well. Having made the necessary sacrifice, Mimir dipped his horn into the well and offered the now-one-eyed god a drink.[2][3]"

The Eye of Horus

"Plants often serve as images of the axis mundi. The image of the Cosmic Tree provides an axis symbol that unites three planes: sky (branches), earth (trunk) and underworld (roots).[17] In some Pacific island cultures the banyan tree, of which the Bodhi tree is of the Sacred Fig variety, is the abode of ancestor spirits. In Hindu religion, the banyan tree is considered sacred and is called ashwath vriksha ("I am banyan tree among trees" - Bhagavad Gita). It represents eternal life because of its seemingly ever-expanding branches. The Bodhi tree is also the name given to the tree under which Gautama Siddhartha, the historical Buddha, sat on the night he attained enlightenment. The Yggdrasil, or World Ash, functions in much the same way in Norse mythology; it is the site where Odin found enlightenment. Other examples include Jievaras in Lithuanian mythology and Thor's Oak in the myths of the pre-Christian Germanic peoples. The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in Genesis present two aspects of the same image. Each is said to stand at the center of the Paradise garden from which four rivers flow to nourish the whole world. Each tree confers a boon. Bamboo, the plant from which Asian calligraphy pens are made, represents knowledge and is regularly found on Asian college campuses. The Christmas tree, which can be traced in its origins back to pre-Christian European beliefs, represents an axis mundi.[18]

Two more trees are placed at the East and West, corresponding to the points of sunrise and sunset, as described in the Huainanzi. The Mesoamerican world tree connects the planes of the Underworld and the sky with that of the terrestrial realm."

Illuminated Manuscripts: The Art of The Letter Form

Enter The True Matrix:

A matrix is a mold for casting a letter in printmaking. Below is an example of a matrix.

"late 14c., "uterus, womb," from Old French matrice "womb, uterus," from Latin matrix (genitive matricis) "pregnant animal," in Late Latin "womb," also "source, origin," from mater (genitive matris) "mother" (see mother (n.1)). Sense of "place or medium where something is developed" is first recorded 1550s; sense of "embedding or enclosing mass" first recorded 1640s. Logical sense of "array of possible combinations of truth-values" is attested from 1914. As a verb from 1951."

The "Good" Book. The Holy Bible.

“Joseph Campbell defines yellow press newspapers as having daily multi-column front-page headlines covering a variety of topics, such as sports and scandal, using bold layouts (with large illustrations and perhaps color), heavy reliance on unnamed sources, and unabashed self-promotion. The term was extensively used to describe certain major New York City newspapers around 1900 as they battled for circulation.

Frank Luther Mott defines yellow journalism in terms of five characteristics:

scare headlines in huge print, often of minor news
lavish use of pictures, or imaginary drawings
use of faked interviews, misleading headlines, pseudoscience, and a parade of false learning from so-called experts
emphasis on full-color Sunday supplements, usually with comic strips
dramatic sympathy with the "underdog" against the system.”

Superman (n.)

"1903, coined by George Bernard Shaw to translate German Übermensch, "highly evolved human being that transcends good and evil," from "Thus Spake Zarathustra" (1883-91), by Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900). First used in German by Hermann Rab (1520s), and also used by Herder and Goethe. Translated as overman (1895) and beyond-man (1896) before Shaw got it right in his play title "Man and Superman" (1903). Application to comic strip hero is from 1938.

So was created ... Superman! champion of the oppressed, the physical marvel who had sworn to devote his existence to helping those in need! ["Action Comics," June 1, 1938]"

Underdog Opening

The Popular Science Monthly of April 1882, in an article called "Has Science Yet Found a New Basis for Morality?" by Professor Goldwin Smith:

"But, if the under dog in the social fight runs away with a bone in violation of superior force, the top dog runs after him bellowing, "Thou shalt not steal," and all the other top dogs unite in bellowing, "This is divine law, and not dog law"; the verdict of the top dog, so far as law, religion, and other forms of brute force are concerned, settles the question.

It appears that between one state and the other there may be an interval in which the question will be not between the moral and the immoral, but between the top and the under dog."

"Underdog is an American animated television series that debuted October 3, 1964, on the NBC network under the primary sponsorship of General Mills and continued in syndication until 1973 (although production of new episodes ceased in 1967[1]), for a run of 124 episodes.

Underdog, Shoeshine Boy's heroic alter ego, appears whenever love interest Sweet Polly Purebred is being victimized by such villains as Simon Bar Sinisteror Riff Raff. Underdog nearly always speaks in rhyming couplets,[2] as in "There's no need to fear, Underdog is here!" His voice was supplied by Wally Cox."

"In 1959, handling the General Mills account as an account executive with the Dancer Fitzgerald Sample advertising agency in New York, W. Watts Biggersteamed with Chet Stover, Treadwell D. Covington, and artist Joe Harris in the creation of television cartoon shows to sell breakfast cereals for General Mills. The shows introduced such characters as King LeonardoTennessee Tuxedo, and Underdog. Biggers and Stover contributed both scripts and songs to the series. When Underdog became a success, Biggers and his partners left Dancer Fitzgerald Sample to form their own company, Total Television, with animation produced at Gamma Studios in Mexico. In 1969, Total Television folded when General Mills dropped out as the primary sponsor (but continued to retain the rights to the series until 1995; however, they still own TV distribution rights through The Program Exchange)."

Ad from the first issue of the comic book Superman, 1939. These were toys for kids and perfectly acceptable back then. Notice how anyone growing as a child during this time period would have no problem running around outside for hours and hours without parental supervision, playing cops and robber or cowboys and indians. Compare this to the culture we have today where toy guns are banned and the news claims to report parents getting arrested for letting their kids play unattended at the park across the street from their home.

"David Richard Berkowitz (born Richard David Falco, June 1, 1953), also known as the Son of Sam and the .44 Caliber Killer, is an American serial killer convicted of a series of shooting attacks that began in New York City in the summer of 1976, perpetrated with a .44 caliber Bulldog revolver. He killed six victims and wounded seven others by July 1977. As the toll mounted, Berkowitz eluded a massive police manhunt while leaving brazen letters which mocked the police and promised further crimes, highly publicized in the press. He terrorized New York and achieved worldwide notoriety."

Everyone must check in. Or so the sign says. Do they mean just the actors or everyone? And if everone, then who were we supposed to check in with? Sandy Hook Event. circa 2012. Compare to NBC News archive footage of the Son of Sam below: Please note the lack of actual tears, like in the case of all the numerous Sandy Hook interviews with the victims' families.

Please watch the video. It shows how the news media is clearly involved in these stories in ways which promote fear and the serial killer's agenda. They are right at the center of this particular story as they are the ones who have not only received the letter from the "Son of Sam" killer, but they are also the ones who promote and focus television time to the subject. They know full well this will drive ratings up. Nobody is surprised by the news media wanting to cash in on such a tragic event. What would surprise most is the concept that the news media is involved with manufacturing the content itself. Perhaps a few in the news media, a few placed high up, might just actually work for the U.S. government.

In fact most might not realIze how controlled the U.S. news really is, and how it is used for public relations more so than anything else. But that's my opinion. Watch the video and consider other such news events and how the coverage is always the same. Its a lot of noise and bluster but very little logical jpuranislm is ever displayed.

Please note too, at about 18:00 or so, the sixth victim is announced, and that victim is a blond. The targets of the Son of Sam, were supposed to have shoulder length dark hair.

David and a Dog: David and God: Talking Dog on TV

"Davey and Goliath premiered on January 1, 1960 and lasted until 1965. After its initial run, several 30-minute holiday special episodes were created in the late 1960s. The series then resumed with some new characters in 1971 and continued until 1973. In 1975, a final 30-minute summer episode was created. In 2004, Joe Clokey produced a new episode, "Davey and Goliath's Snowboard Christmas"."

Each 15-minute episode features the adventures of Davey Hansen and his "talking" dog Goliath (although only Davey and the viewer can hear him speak) as they learn the love of God through everyday occurrences.

Mr. Berkowitz would change his tune and his story (a retconned history)

"Berkowitz has been imprisoned since his arrest and is serving six life sentences consecutively. In the mid-1990s, he amended his confession to claim that he had been a member of a violent Satanic cult which orchestrated the incidents as ritual murder. He remains the only person ever charged with the shootings, yet some law enforcement authorities have questioned whether Berkowitz's claims are credible. A new investigation into the murders was launched in 1996, but was suspended indefinitely after inconclusive findings."

"Press conference of March 10, 1977

In a March 10, 1977 press conference, NYPD officials and New York City Mayor Abe Beame declared that the same .44 Bulldog revolver had fired the shots that killed Lauria and Voskerichian.[27] Official documents later surfaced, however, saying that police strongly suspected that the same .44 Bulldog had been used in the shootings, but that the evidence was actually inconclusive.[27]

The same day, the Operation Omega task force made its public debut, charged solely with investigating the .44 caliber shootings. The task force was led by Deputy Inspector Timothy Joseph Dowd, and was composed of over 300 police officers. Police speculated that the killer had a vendetta against women, perhaps due to chronic social rejection, and also declared that the "chubby teenager" was regarded as a witness, not a suspect in the Voskerichian shooting.

The crimes were discussed in the media virtually every day in the New York area, and the world press carried many of the reports. The Son of Sam case reached the front page of newspapers as far afield as the Vatican's L'Osservatore Romano, the Hebrew newspaper Maariv, and the Soviet Izvestia.[28] Australian publisher Rupert Murdoch had recently purchased the New York Post, and the paper offered sensationalist coverage of the crimes."

WABC Eyewitness News Roger Grimsby and Milton Lewis report on the death of Joe Colombo, alleged organized crime family boss of bosses.

"On May 30, 1977, Daily News columnist Jimmy Breslin received a handwritten letter from someone who claimed to be the .44 shooter. The letter was postmarked early that same day in Englewood, New Jersey. On the reverse of the envelope, neatly handprinted in four precisely centered lines, were the words: Blood and Family – Darkness and Death – Absolute Depravity – .44 The letter inside read:"

"Hello from the gutters of N.Y.C. which are filled with dog manure, vomit, stale wine, urine and blood. Hello from the sewers of N.Y.C. which swallow up these delicacies when they are washed away by the sweeper trucks. Hello from the cracks in the sidewalks of N.Y.C. and from the ants that dwell in these cracks and feed in the dried blood of the dead that has settled into the cracks. J.B., I'm just dropping you a line to let you know that I appreciate your interest in those recent and horrendous .44 killings. I also want to tell you that I read your column daily and I find it quite informative. Tell me Jim, what will you have for July twenty-ninth? You can forget about me if you like because I don't care for publicity. However you must not forget Donna Lauria and you cannot let the people forget her either. She was a very, very sweet girl but Sam's a thirsty lad and he won't let me stop killing until he gets his fill of blood. Mr. Breslin, sir, don't think that because you haven't heard from me for a while that I went to sleep. No, rather, I am still here. Like a spirit roaming the night. Thirsty, hungry, seldom stopping to rest; anxious to please Sam. I love my work. Now, the void has been filled. Perhaps we shall meet face to face someday or perhaps I will be blown away by cops with smoking .38's. Whatever, if I shall be fortunate enough to meet you I will tell you all about Sam if you like and I will introduce you to him. His name is "Sam the terrible." Not knowing the what the future holds I shall say farewell and I will see you at the next job. Or should I say you will see my handiwork at the next job? Remember Ms. Lauria. Thank you. "Keep 'em digging, drive on, think positive, get off your butts, knock on coffins, etc." Upon my capture I promise to buy all the guys working the case a new pair of shoes if I can get up the money. Son of Sam"

"Underneath the "Son of Sam" was a logo or sketch that combined several symbols. The writer's question "What will you have for July 29?" was taken as an ominous threat: July 29 would be the anniversary of the first .44 caliber shooting.[17] Breslin notified police, who thought that the letter was probably from someone with knowledge of the shootings. The Breslin letter was sophisticated in its wording and presentation, especially when compared to the crudely written first letter, and police suspected that it might have been created in an art studio or similar professional location by someone with expertise in printing, calligraphy, or graphic design.[39] The unusual writing caused the police to speculate that the killer was a comic letterer, and they asked staff members of DC Comics whether they recognized the lettering.[40] The "Wicked King Wicker" reference led police to arrange a private screening of The Wicker Man, a 1973 horror film."

"Larry Harvey (born 11 January 1948) is the main co-founder of the Burning Manfestival, along with his friend Jerry James.[1] What started in 1986 as a summer solstice evening ritual burning of their artistic creation of an effigy of a man with a group of just a dozen people at San Francisco's Baker Beach soon became an annual event that over 4 years grew to more than 800 people. In 1990, in collaboration with the SF Cacophony Society, the event moved to Labor Day weekend in the Black Rock Desert, where it has grown precipitously from a 3 day, 80 persons "zone trip," to an 8 day festival with over 50,000 participants."

"One of the roots of the annual event now known as Burning Man began as a bonfire ritual on the summer solstice in 1986 when Larry Harvey, Jerry James, and a few friends met on Baker Beach in San Francisco[8] and burned a 9-foot (2.7-meter) wooden man as well as a smaller wooden dog."

How the Printing Press is Used: Fear Based Public Relations

"The Daily News published the letter a week later, after consulting with police and agreeing to withhold portions of the text, and Breslin urged the killer to turn himself over to authorities. Reportedly, more than 1.1 million copies of that day's paper were sold.[41] The letter caused a panic in New York, and police received thousands of tips based on references in the publicized portions of the letter, all of which proved baseless.[39] All the shooting victims so far had long dark hair, and thousands of women in New York acquired short cuts or brightly colored dyes, and beauty supply stores had trouble meeting the demand for wigs."

The Dog Made Me Do It

"Berkowitz was arrested by New York City police in August 1977, and was indicted for eight shooting incidents. He confessed to all of them, and claimed to have been obeying the orders of a demon, manifested in the form of a dog ("Harvey") who belonged to his neighbor ("Sam"). Despite his explanation, Berkowitz was found mentally competent and incarcerated in state prison for murder. In the course of further police investigation, Berkowitz was also implicated in many unsolved arsons in the city."

Harvey, the name of the dog, seems to be a reference to the James Stewart film, "Harvey". In this film, Stewart plays a man who has an imaginary friend. The friend manifests as a "rabbit".  This imaginary character is based on a Celtic mythological shape changing figure known as a "Pooka". "Sam" could be a reference to the U.S. itself. As "Uncle Sam".  Or "sam" could be "mas(s)" backwards. As in "mass public", or "Catholic Mass".

    (see: http://www.aamorris.net/properganderatpropaganda/2015/10/24/going-to-california-by-way-of-woodstock-and-the-stairway-to-heaven)

Trailer for the 1950 film "Harvey" below:

"Elwood P. Dowd (Stewart) is a middle-aged, amiable (and somewhat eccentric) individual whose best friend is an invisible 6' 3.5" tall rabbit named Harvey. As described by Dowd, Harvey is a pooka, a benign but mischievous creature from Celtic mythology who is especially fond of social outcasts (like Elwood). Elwood has driven his sister and niece (who live with him and crave normality and a place in society) to distraction by introducing everyone he meets to his friend, Harvey. His family seems to be unsure whether Dowd's obsession with Harvey is a product of his (admitted) propensity to drink or perhaps mental illness."

A pooka is a shape shifter.

"The púca (Irish for spirit/ghost), pooka, phouka, phooka, phooca, puca or púka, is primarily a creature of Irish folklore.[1] Considered to be bringers both of good and bad fortune, they could either help or hinder rural and marine communities. The creatures were said to be shape changers which could take the appearance of black horses, goats and rabbits. They may also take a human form, which includes various animal features, such as ears or a tail."

"The origin of the name may have come from the Old Norse term pook or puki, which refers to a "nature spirit".[5] In Germanic languages, such as Frisian or English, this became pucel, pook or puck."

"On October 2, 1988, Donnie Darko (Jake Gyllenhaal), a troubled teenager living in Middlesex, Virginia, is awakened and led outside by a figure in a monstrous rabbit costume, who introduces himself as "Frank" and tells him the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds. At dawn, Donnie returns home to find a jet engine has crashed into his bedroom. His older sister, Elizabeth (Maggie Gyllenhaal), informs him the FAAinvestigators do not know where it came from."

In the film, "The Big Lebowski", the "Dude" (fool) played by Jeff Bridges, attempts to solve the "mystery" of Bunny Lebowski's disappearance. He is like the mythic hunter, Orion in pursuit of the hare.

"Lepus is most often represented as a rabbit being hunted by Orion, whose hunting dogs (Canis Major and Canis Minor) pursue it. The constellation is also associated with some lunar mythology, including the Moon rabbit."

    The Big Lebowski

“In 1991 Los Angeles, slacker Jeff "the Dude" Lebowski (Jeff Bridges) is assaulted in his home by two thugs (Mark Pellegrino and Philip Moon) who demand money that the wife of a Jeffrey Lebowski owes to a man named Jackie Treehorn (Ben Gazzara). The two soon realize they have attacked the wrong Jeffrey Lebowski and leave, but not before one of them urinates on The Dude's rug.

The Dude meets his bowling friends, the timid Donny (Steve Buscemi) and the temperamental Vietnam veteran Walter Sobchak (John Goodman). Encouraged by Walter, the Dude approaches the other Jeffrey Lebowski (David Huddleston), the eponymous "Big Lebowski", a cantankerous elderly millionaire in a wheelchair, to seek compensation for his ruined rug. This request is promptly refused. He craftily steals one of Lebowski's rugs by telling Brandt (Philip Seymour Hoffman), Lebowski's sycophantic assistant, that his boss told him to take any rug in the house. The Dude subsequently meets Bunny (Tara Reid), Lebowski's young nymphomaniacal trophy wife..

Sam: Uncle, Son, Sun, or Samhain?

"The name Samson is a Hebrew baby name. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Samson is: Sun child; bright sun. In the Old Testament, Samson's great strength came from his long hair. He was seduced by Delilah, who cut his hair off, thereby destroying his strength."

"In Modern Irish the name is Samhain [ˈsˠaunʲ], in Scottish Gaelic Samhainn/Samhuinn [ˈsaũ.iɲ], and in Manx Gaelic Sauin. These are also the names of November in each language, shortened from Mí na Samhna (Irish), Mì na Samhna (Scottish Gaelic) and Mee Houney (Manx). The night of 31 October (Halloween) is Oíche Shamhna (Irish), Oidhche Shamhna (Scottish Gaelic) and Oie Houney (Manx), all meaning "Samhain night". 1 November, or the whole festival, may be called Lá Samhna (Irish), Là Samhna (Scottish Gaelic) and Laa Houney (Manx), all meaning "Samhain day".

These names all come from the Old Irish samain, samuin or samfuin [ˈsaṽɨnʲ] all referring to 1 November (latha na samna: 'samhain day'), and the festival and royal assembly held on that date in medieval Ireland (oenaig na samna: 'samhain assembly'). Its meaning is glossed as 'summer's end', and the frequent spelling with f suggests analysis by popular etymology as sam ('summer') and fuin ('end'). The Old Irish sam is from Proto-Indo-European (PIE) *semo-; cognates include Welsh haf, Breton hañv, English summer and Old Norse sumar, all meaning 'summer', and the Sanskrit sáma ('season').[8][9]

In 1907, Whitley Stokes suggested an etymology from Proto-Celtic *samani ('assembly'), cognate to Sanskrit sámana, and Gothic samana.[10] J. Vendryes concludes that samain is unrelated to *semo- ('summer'), remarking that the Celtic 'end of summer' was in July, not November, as evidenced by Welsh gorffennaf ('July').[11] We would therefore be dealing with an Insular Celtic word for 'assembly', *samani or *samoni, and a word for 'summer', saminos (from *samo-: 'summer') alongside samrad, *samo-roto-."

"The Gaulish month name SAMON[IOS] on the Coligny calendar is likely related to the words Samhain and summer.[12] A festival of some kind may have been held during the 'three nights of Samonios' (Gaulish trinux[tion] samo[nii]). The Gaulish calendar seems to have split the year into two-halves: the first beginning with the month SAMON[IOS] and the second beginning with the month GIAMONIOS, which is related to the word for winter, PIE *g'hei-men- (Latin hiems, Latvian ziema, Lithuanian žiema, Slavic zima, Greek kheimon, Hittite gimmanza), cf. "In Judaism, Samael is said to be the angel of death, one of the seven archangels, the ruler over the Fifth Heaven, and commander of two million angels. Yalkut Shimoni presents Samael as Esau's guardian angel."

In The Holy Kabbalah (Arthur Edward Waite, 255), Samael is described as the "wrath of God", and is listed as fifth of the archangels of the world of Briah. Also in the Kabbalah, Samael was said to be the Serpent who tempted Eve into sin. He even seduced and impregnated her with Cain. Samael then became the consort of Adam's first wife, Lilith. He created with her a host of demon children, including a son, Sariel, the "Sword of Samael" [7] (or Asmodai).[8]

Samael is sometimes confused in some books with Camael, an archangel of God, whose name is similar to words meaning "like God" (but Camael with a waw missing).

It is also said that the Baal Shem once summoned Samael, to make him do his bidding.[9]

In several interpretations of the Ascension of Isaiah, Samael is often identified as Malkira "king of evil" or "king of the wicked" or Belkira {"lord of the wall"), which are both epithets of the false prophet sent by Belial to accuse Isaiah of treason, notably the Ascension of Isaiah also identifies him as Satan.[5]"

Ok, Ok, I lied, The Dog Didn't Tell Me To Do Anything: The Devil Made Me Do It!

If we go by this latter interpretation, and David Berkowitz himself has claimed he was a follower of Satan, then perhaps he got the idea consciously or unconsciously from the newsstand comic book cover anyone would have seen at the time. Assuming, of course, he didn't read comic books himself, which is something an awful lot of young men did back then, much like today. Based upon his own narrative, he does seem like the "basement dweller" cliche who would read such material, does he not?

Below, when the .44 caliber killer was 44 years old, he retconned his story. He references the work of Anton LeVay, the infamous "Satanic Bible". Anton LeVay was not known for advocating violence, by the way.

Summer 1976: The Summer of Uncle Sam

The prior summer, the summer of 1976 was the anniversary of the United States itself. The "Bicentennial" was a huge deal. The mint even put out a special edition quarter in honor of the occasion. Minting or printing money is another example of art, of course. It reinforces cultural memes while also providing an easy means of commerce. Then of course there's always the option to profit from the printing or minting of the currency itself, but that is another subject entirely.

    Flashback: 1975

"The Gerald Ford assassination attempt in Sacramento was a September 5, 1975, effort by Charles Manson Family cult member Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme to kill U.S. President Gerald Ford in California. She wanted to make a statement to people who refused to halt environmental pollution and its effects on Air, Trees, Water, and Animals (ATWA). Although Fromme stood a little more than an arm's length from Ford that Friday morning and pointed a M1911 pistol at him in the public grounds of the California State Capitol building, her gun failed to fire and no one was injured. After the assassination attempt, Ford continued walking to the California state house, where he met with California governor Jerry Brown. For her crime, Fromme spent 34 years in prison and was released on August 14, 2009 – 2 years and 8 months after Ford's death. The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan, later received the M1911 pistol used in the assassination attempt as a gift, and the gun was put on display."

"On the day Fromme decided to see Ford during his September trip to Sacramento, Fromme already had a Colt .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol in her apartment.[18] The M1911 pistol, produced 64 years earlier in 1911 by Colt Firearms,[18] was manufactured the same year that Colt's M1911 pistol became the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces.[19] After its manufacture in 1911, Fromme's pistol was sent to Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois.[20] The pistol was used in the U.S. Army and later sold as Government surplus in 1913.[18] At the time of the assassination attempt, the Colt .45 was not considered a common crime gun because "it's rather large, and not easily concealed."[20]"

    Flashback: 1972, 1968, 1963 Gun Control

"In 1972, theBureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms was created.

Enforcement of the Gun Control Act was given to the Dept. of the Treasury's Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division of the Internal Revenue Service. The organization replaced "tax" with "firearms," nearly doubled in size, and became the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)."

    Gun Control Act

"The assassination of John F. Kennedy, who was killed by a mail-order gun that belonged to Lee Harvey Oswald, inspired this major revision to federal gun laws. The subsequent assasinations of Martin Luther King and presidential candidate Robert Kennedy fueled its quick passage. License requirements were expanded to include more dealers, and more detailed record keeping was expected of them; handgun sales over state lineswere restricted; the list of persons dealers could not sell to grew to include those convicted of felonies (with some exceptions), those found mentally incompetentdrug users and more. The act also defined persons who were banned from possessing firearms.

The key element of this bill outlawed mail order sales of rifles and shotguns; Up until this law, mail order consumers only had to sign a statement that they were over 21 years of age for a handgun (18 for rifle or shotgun); it also detailed more persons who were banned from possessing certain guns, including drug users, and further restricted shotgun and rifles sales."

Maybe the whole show was just a "Psy-Op". A military psychological "prank" of sorts. A means of social control. Who knows. The one thing we can be sure of is to not trust the news media to ask the right questions or do to any sort of investigative journalism. That is a myth promoted by the news media. The fact is, the news media does not do much of anything other than parrot propaganda.

    August 22, 1972: A Dog Day Afternoon

"The expression dog days refers to the hot, sultry days of summer, originally in areas around the Mediterranean Sea, and as the expression fit, to other areas, especially in the Northern Hemisphere. The coincidence of very warm temperatures in the early civilizations in North Africa and the Near East with the rising, at sunrise (i.e., the heliacal rising), of the Orion's dog, the dog star Sirius, led to the association of this phrase with these conditions, an association that traces to the Egyptians and appears in the ancient written poetic and other records of the Greeks (e.g., Hesiod and Aratus) and the later Romans (including Homer, in The Iliad). In such geographical areas as these, and others globally with similar latitude and climate, the dog days of summer are most commonly experienced in the months of July and August, which typically exhibit among the hottest of summer temperatures. In the Southern Hemisphere, the same period typically occurs in February and March, in the midst of the austral summer."

GOD is DOG spelled backwards, of course.

The Egyptian God Anubis comes to mind. Anubis is a threshold guardian type figure. He is associated with the afterlife.

"Anubis (/əˈnuːbəs/ or /əˈnjuːbəs/;[2] Ancient Greek: Ἄνουβις) is the Greek name of a god associated with mummification and the afterlife in ancient Egyptian religion, usually depicted as a canine or a man with a canine head."

    Guide of Souls

"By the late pharaonic era (664–332 BC), Anubis was often depicted as guiding individuals across the threshold from the world of the living to the afterlife.[33] Though a similar role was sometimes performed by the cow-headed Hathor, Anubis was more commonly chosen to fulfill that function.[34] Greek writers from the Roman period of Egyptian history designated that role as that of "psychopomp", a Greek term meaning "guide of souls" that they used to refer to their own god Hermes, who also played that role in Greek religion.[27] Funerary art from that period represents Anubis guiding either men or women dressed in Greek clothes into the presence of Osiris, who by then had long replaced Anubis as ruler of the underworld.[35]

The Greek God Hermes, or the Roman Mercury can be associated with Odin.

"Worship of Odin dates back to early Germanic paganism. The most compelling evidence of this historical connection is found in the accounts of Tacitus and Julius Caesar, who describe the Germanic pagans participating in a cult of "Mercury" dedicated to a figure matching Odin in both attributes and areas of patronage.[10]

Additionally, parallels between Odin and Celtic Lugus have often been pointed out: both are intellectual gods, commanding magic and poetry. Both have ravens and a spear as their attributes, and both are one-eyed. A likely context of the diffusion of elements of Celtic ritual into Germanic culture is that of the Chatti, who lived at the Celtic-Germanic boundary in Hesse during the final centuries before the Common Era. However, it must be remembered that Odin in his Proto-Germanic form was not the chief god, but that he only gradually replaced Tyr during the Migration period."

The Celtic God, Lugus or Lugh started his own Olympics style event. The Olympics as legend has it, started as games played by only men, generally in the nude, in honor of the God Zeus.

"Lugh instituted an event similar to the Olympic games called the Assembly of Talti which finished on Lughnasadh (1 August) in memory of his foster-mother, Tailtiu, at the town that bears her name (now TeltownCounty Meath)."

"Lughnasadh or Lughnasa (pronounced /ˈluːnəsə/loo-nə-səIrish: Lúnasa, /ˈl̪ˠuːn̪ˠəsˠə/Scottish Gaelic: Lùnastal, [ˈl̪ˠu:nəsd̥əl̪ˠ]Manx: Luanistyn, [ˈluanɪst̪ən]) is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season. Historically, it was widely observed throughout IrelandScotland and the Isle of Man. Originally it was held on 1 August, or about halfway between the summer solstice and autumn equinox. However, over time the celebrations shifted to the Sundays nearest this date. Lughnasadh is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals; along with SamhainImbolc and Beltane. It corresponds to other European harvest festivals such as the Welsh Gwyl Awst and the English Lammas.

Lughnasadh is mentioned in some of the earliest Irish literature and is believed to have pagan origins. The festival itself is named after the god Lugh. It involved great gatherings that included religious ceremonies, ritual athletic contests (most notably the Tailteann Games), feasting, matchmaking and trading. There were also visits to holy wells. According to folklorist Máire MacNeill, evidence shows that the religious rites included an offering of the first of the corn, a feast of the new food and of bilberries, the sacrifice of a bull and a ritual dance-play. Much of this would have taken place on top of hills and mountains."

    Weighing of the heart

The "weighing of the heart," from the book of the dead of Hunefer. Anubis is portrayed as both guiding the deceased forward and manipulating the scales, under the scrutiny of the ibis-headed Thoth.

One of the roles of Anubis was as the "Guardian of the Scales."[36] The critical scene depicting the weighing of the heart, in the Book of the Dead, shows Anubis performing a measurement that determined whether the person was worthy of entering the realm of the dead (the underworld, known as Duat). By weighing the heart of a deceased person against Ma'at (or "truth"), who was often represented as an ostrich feather, Anubis dictated the fate of souls. Souls heavier than a feather would be devoured by Ammit, and souls lighter than a feather would ascend to a heavenly existence.[37][38]"

"Real Dog Day Afternoon News Story From ABC News 1972" below:

"The actual original broadcast of the strange but true bank robbery in Brooklyn, New York in August of 1972 which was later made into the legendary and classic 1975 film starring Al Pacino, Dog Day Afternoon. Harry Reasoner recounts the days events, which the movie faithfully recreated."

The September 22, 1972, issue of Life Magazine

The September 22,1972, issue of Life Magazine, the article starts on page 66. This article apparently suggests the casting of the actor Al Pacino for the part of Sonny Wortzik, some three years before the film version of this story would be released to the public.

His friend Salvatore "Sal" Naturale would be played by Mr. Pacino's fellow Godfather film series cast member, John Cazale. Please notice that both the names "Sonny" and "Sal" are variations of "Sun". Sal, is short for "Salvatore", which  means "savior" in Italian,  and "Sonny" becomes "Sunny".

So one character is "Sunny" A "Sun Man" a "Samson" of sorts. A sun figure like Apollo or Superman.

The other character in this drama is named " Salvatore Naturale" or "Natural Savior". This brings Jesus Christ immediately to mind.

Dog Day Afternoon: The Event and Film

"First-time crook Sonny Wortzik (Al Pacino), his friend Salvatore "Sal" Naturale (John Cazale), and Stevie (Gary Springer) attempt to rob the First Brooklyn Savings Bank. The plan immediately goes awry when Stevie loses his nerve shortly after Sal pulls out his gun, and Sonny is forced to let him flee the scene. In the vault, Sonny discovers that he and Sal have arrived after the daily cash pickup, and only $1,100 in cash remains in the bank.

To compensate, Sonny takes a number of traveler's cheques, but his attempt to prevent the cheques from being traced by burning the bank's register in a trash can causes smoke to billow out the side of the building, alerting the business across the street to suspicious activities. Within minutes, the building is surrounded by the police. Unsure of what to do, the two robbers camp out in the bank, holding all the workers hostage."

"After realizing they cannot make a simple getaway, Sonny demands that a helicopter be landed on the roof to fly him and Sal out of the country. When they are informed that the asphalt roof of the bank will not support a helicopter, Sonny demands that a vehicle drive him and Sal to an airport so that they can board a jet. He also demands pizzas for the hostages (which are delivered to the scene) and that his wife be brought to the bank. When Sonny's wife, Leon Shermer(Chris Sarandon), a pre-operative transsexual, arrives, he reveals to the crowd and officials one of Sonny's reasons for robbing the bank is to pay for Leon's sex reassignment surgery, and that Sonny also has an estranged divorced wife, Angie (Susan Peretz), and children."

"The ability to legally change the gender marker in Sweden has been available since 1972, when Sweden became the first country in the world to allow transgender people to legally correct their gender. But this was only allowed if one met several criteria - one had to be a Swedish citizen and 18 years old, unmarried (having divorced if necessary), and have lived for two years as the opposite gender.[16] The law was re-evaluated in 2007, proposing removals of the requirements to be a Swedish citizen, unmarried and sterilized, and presented to the Christian Democratminister for Health and Social Affairs.[17] The Swedish Discrimination Ombudsman (DO) and the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights have inquired about the future of the proposed new law.[18] In 2013 the requirement to be sterilized before one can legally correct one's gender was lifted, and it is no longer part of the law.[19] It had been part of the law since 1972, and is thought to have been used on 500 transgender people.[19]

In February 2015, the government introduced two bills. The first one allow legal gender change without any form of psychiatric or psychological evaluation as well as the need of a diagnosis or any kind of medical intervention. The other one allow the sex reassignment surgery if the person applying for it submit a positive opinion from a psychiatrist.[20]"

The Lion Becomes The Virgin: The Zodiac

Sonny Wortzik, was motivated by the need for money in order to pay for a sexual reassignment surgery. His wife was a man named Leon. Leon means lion. It is a name derived from the astrological sign, Leo, The Lion.

Putting aside the fact that there was no place in the U.S.A. to get such a surgery back then. And also ignoring that one had to be a citizen of Sweden in order to get the surgery there, we can see that this stoty parallels the Zodiac. The lion becomes the virgin. The male symbol becomes a woman. Leo or Leon, wishes to become a woman.

Leon wants to become a woman. If he were to do so, Leon, or Leo The Lion would become, logically, a virgin, like the next sign in the progression of the Zodiac, the sign Virgo. See the coin below.. Heracles in Greek myth, a solar symbol, also becomes, or rather, dresses as a woman.

"Leon is a first name of Greek origin. The Greek λέων (leōn), meaning "lion," has spawned the Latin "leo," French "lion," Irish "leon" and Spanish "león." Perhaps the oldest attested historical figure to bear this name was Leon of Sparta, a 5th-century BCE king of Sparta, while in Greek mythology Leon was a Giant killed by Heracles. During the Christian era Leon was merged with the Latin cognate Leo, with the result that the two forms are used interchangeably.[1] A similar Greek name to Leon is Leonidas, meaning "son of a lion", with Leonidas I, king of Sparta, being perhaps the most famous bearer of that name."

The Dog Day Afternoon Event took place on August 22. This day falls during the zodiac "cusp" the transition time between the Zodiac signs. Leo transitions to Virgo. The Sphinx being half human and half lion,  would seem to relate to this concept.

Perhaps now we can understand the legendary enigmatic signatue of the "son of Sam". The male and female symbols , the "above as below" alchemical reference. The same kind of masonic compass reference. The A and the V. The mountain and the valley or alley. Perhaps the signature is an astrological reference pointing to the Zodiac killings from 1969. Perhaps the male and female symbols represents Leo becoming Virgo. A man becoming a virgin. A man getting a sex change becomes a virgin woman, as he has never been a she and has never crossed that threshold that all child bearing women do.

On Mount Cyllene in the Peloponnese,[3] as Tiresias came upon a pair of copulating snakes, he hit the pair a smart blow with his stick. Hera was not pleased, and she punished Tiresias by transforming him into a woman. As a woman, Tiresias became a priestess of Hera, married and had children, including Manto, who also possessed the gift of prophecy. According to some versions of the tale, Lady Tiresias was a prostitute of great renown. After seven years as a woman, Tiresias again found mating snakes; depending on the myth, either she made sure to leave the snakes alone this time, or, according to Hyginus, trampled on them.[4] As a result, Tiresias was released from his sentence and permitted to regain his masculinity. This ancient story is recorded in lost lines of Hesiod.[5]
