Mythic Number Games
"In what seems an astounding coincidence, three early presidents died on July 4, as listed in Table 1. Both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died in the same year, 1826, on the fiftieth anniversary of their signing the Declaration of Independence. Adams’s final words, that his long-time rival and correspondent Jefferson “still lives,” were mistaken, as Jefferson had died earlier that same day. James Monroe died on the same date five years later. Presidential scholars suggest that the former early presidents made an effort to hang on till July 4. James Madison rejected stimulants that might have prolonged his life, and he died six days earlier on June 28 (in 1836). It seems evident that for the deaths of several presidents July 4 is not a random date. Only one president, Calvin Coolidge, was born on July 4."
Numerologically Inclined: It's The Magic of Numbers
Seems to me these bright minds ignore the more obvious explanation. I am skeptical of magical synchronized unconscious minds, myself, and probabilities are just mathematical constructs. I am not discounting probability nor the fact that coincidences happen. It's just that models should not be confused with reality and mythic heroic figures should not be confused with real people. By this I mean that legendary Presidents are part of the show. It's not a question of them not being real as much as it's a question of how their resumes might be fudged to fit historical picture. There is a spectrum of truth. The more likely explanation for the July 4th synchronized Danse Macabre is that the dates are fudged. Myth making matters when building national identity. We do not need to mathematically model the concept that history is a bit more mythical in nature than many might be inclined to accept having been conditioned to believe otherwise. We are all born into a very artificial world none of us created.
original article that inspired this post:
I have personally experienced coincidence many times and so have most people. Sometimes shat does simply, just so happen to coincidentally, happen.
Since we share a mono culture in many ways, should we be surprised when different minds come up with the same idea? We all echo each other, we can't help it, it is human nature. Truly original ideas are hard to come by. Conscious, semi conscious and unconscious education would seem to explain many mystically interpretated events.
Names and concepts occur over and over and the simplest explanation is cultural diffusion of one kind or another. This diffusion is more true today in our digitally and socially connected world than ever before. The wired and wirelessly connected world of hyper linked instantaneaous information retrieval and communication is the medium of the mass age. Similar minds with similar interests are bound to ponder similar ideas. Increasing exposure to the internet and mass media would seem likely to make such coincidence more common.
I do not mean to imply that other sorts of coincidence do not happen. For example, your laptop breaks down in smoking glory on the same day your computer decided to turn itself permanently off, without having decency to leave a suicide note. Of course your day started with you having accidentally stepped on your smart phone, smashing the fancy high definition screen into illegible shards. These things do happen and mathematical probability can be logically applied and used to model these sorts of occurrences in terms of blind, random chance. Meaningful coincidences with no logical or demonstrable connections do occur.
"...the coincidental occurrence of events and especially psychic events (such as similar thoughts in widely separated persons or a mental image of an unexpected event before it happens) that seem related but are not explained by conventional mechanisms of causality —used especially in the psychology of C. G. Jung"

Human Beings Are Not As Smart As We Think We Are
Moon hoax mistakes are not on purpose. Human nature is what it is. We are not perfect and we are all prone to making mistakes. Our errors build up into a pile of sky high, red, white and blue, apple pie love of a place that does not exist.
King, Queens, families that control international banking rings, the men and women in lab coats and the fellas selling holy ghosts, none are very wise nor very smart. All prone to making mistakes like the rest of us. No one is better and no one alone truly smart. None of the technology most take for granted nor the huge governmental growth is the product of one person.
Building social constructs and civilization requires centuries and the collective effort of a controlled populace. It is not easy to get a group of people to combine their efforts. War makes that easier. Propaganda and patriotic tunes and mythical holidays go a long way in crafting social roles for people to embrace and take as natural reality.
Most of us do not want to see the very real mental spell we are under. Most do not want to wake up from what can perhaps best be described as the deluded dream of mass produced commercialized mind control.
Carl Jung is another legend who along with Freud are mythic characters and part of the tapestry most take too seriously. Mystical insight is more nonsensical than not. In fact the collective unconscious is not some mystical and magical telepathic link. The very real neurology of the human brain is complex and while being prone to error, there is an unconscious aspect to how we perceive the world. There is an unconscious aspect to our behavior. We can verify this for ourselves each one of us by paying attention to our own minds.
